Well it appears that over the weekend we had some substantial database issues relating to the photo gallery.  Ours was not the only site on the machine with database issues specifically related to Gallery2.

As a result, all of the data for the photo gallery has been lost.  The pictures are still on the server, but 16gb of photos to import is no small task!   I am playing around with some other photo gallery software, I may move to the latest version of Joomla while I'm at it.
